The Cyprus U-16 national team concluded its commitments in the international development tournament, organized by the CFA in collaboration with UEFA, with a victory.

Our team played excellent football in the first half, managing to score two goals and creating opportunities for an even greater lead.

Alexandros Middleton opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a shot from outside the box, while David Gerasimu doubled the lead in the 16th minute with a penalty he won himself.

In the second half, Romania reduced the deficit early on and pressed for an equalizer. However, our team withstood the pressure and had its own chances on the counterattack to score a third goal.

Ultimately, the score remained 2-1 until the final whistle, with our young internationals celebrating a victory that will boost their confidence and morale for the future.

Scotland secured first place in the tournament with three wins in as many matches.

The Scots earned nine points, while Cyprus, Romania, and Northern Ireland each finished with three points in a high-level tournament featuring exciting matches.
